George Goggans (Author) / Happy Burbeck (Illustrator)
The children’s book Take Me Out to the Dog Park™ is now available! It is a charming book that appeals to a variety of ages from 3 and up. The first edition has a beautiful, sky blue and green grass colored cover (pictured), but inside the pictures are on soft, off-white parchment that allows the readers to color the dogs, parks, fire hydrants, fences, and all of the pictures however they choose. This enables the book to be interesting and enchanting to a wide audience: a coloring book for small children, an amusing bedtime story young kids, an informative poetry book for adolescents, and an all-around entertaining book for the high school through college-aged student.
Take Me Out to the Dog Park™ is narrated by two dogs–each of whom has their own version of the title’s jingle: Gabby (who favors Emily Dickinson) and her outspoken dog-park friend Jack (who aligns himself with Walt Whitman). This is a new book from high school English instructor and author George Goggans. Goggans’ previous book, The Legend of the Cajun Duck™, while remarkably entertaining, probably won’t have quite the vast appeal of his new creation, Take Me Out to the Dog Park™.
